Arizona Gym Rats and Arizona Stars Join Forces

The Arizona Gym Rats and Arizona Stars have joined forces to become the largest, most successful youth basketball club from U9 to U17 ever assembled in Arizona. With the Arizona Gym Rats getting comfortable in their new 70,000sqft facility at Home Courts-Tempe, featuring: (8) basketball courts, 3,000sqft weight/fitness room, media/film room, healthy snack bar and much more, the Arizona Stars will enjoy this incredible facility in March after the high school season is completed…

Jeff de Laveaga founder of the Arizona Gym Rats, former professional basketball player and Art Dye founder of the Arizona Stars have agreed to merge their two clubs to create a great place for kids to play their entire youth careers and get the most exposure from college coaches to assist them playing at the next level. Gym Rats and Stars players will have the ability to attend NIKE top-level college coaching viewing camps, tournaments and clinics as well as play in the largest NIKE tournaments around the nation. U9-U14 will remain known as the Arizona Gym Rats and U15-U17 will continue to be known as the Arizona Stars.

The Gym Rats have dominated youth boy’s basketball in the younger ages for the last 3-years and have produced BACK-T0-BACK-TO-BACK State of Arizona AAU Champions at the U9, U10, U11, U12 and U13 age divisions. On a national level, the Gym Rats have made a name for themselves finishing in the top 20-nationally every year in the U9, U10, U11, U12 and U13 age divisions and this year winning (3) National Championships. They collected (19) State Championships and (4) National Championship in less than 3-years and it looks like it’s not stopping anytime soon. The Arizona Stars have for a long time been the high school powerhouse Club in the Valley of the Sun. With Arizona standouts now NBA players : Mike Bibby, Richard Jefferson, Channing Frye, Nick Green and many others who went on to play at the college ranks, there is no doubt this club continues their dominance at the high school age level. Art Dye the mastermind behind the Stars organization is sponsored by Nike which help finance Stars top teams to allow them to travel all over the country participating in the largest tournaments which attract all the top college coaches. No better way to get noticed for a high school player than to have a solid showing at one of these tournaments.
